EBSCOHOST DATABASE

To get excellent material for your research paper go to FundaCid, or just CID. To get there you have two alternatives, the first one is by entering to the UC web page, and on the left hand side of the screen you will see the word CID, click on it. The second and most direct, is by typing http://www.cid.uc.edu.ve, then click on Recursos Electrónicos, and select Bases de Datos.
In order to have full access you have to register.

I hope this helps you find what you need to complete your tasks.

What to do during the semester.

Dear students,
Below you'll read the activities you have to fulfil during the semester, which you should also upload to your corresponding blog. I would appreciate a lot if you make comments to your friends' work to help them improve in their process of learning how to write in English.
Tasks:
1.- a. Analyse the research paper provided by your teacher in order to identify its characteristics, parts, style, function and importance.
b. Make a reflexion about the strategies and steps to follow to identify a research problem.
c. Answer these questions: What is this knowledge useful for? When can I apply it? Why do I need it? What do I need to learn or improve?

2.- a. Read the second research paper, the one you selected from the list provided by your teacher.
b. Produce a new research question, derived from the reading.
c. State your reasons.

3.- a. After reading for the second time the research paper you selected, identify its characteristics, parts, style, function and importance.

4.- a. Apply the steps used to sinthesize and the techniques to elaborate paraphrases, compression of ideas, as well as the summary strategies with the text you selected. Upload your product to your blog. Your classmates comments should help you improve it.

5.- Your teacher will provide you a research paper in which the abstract is ommited. Your task is to provide the appropriate one according to what you read and know about writing abstracts.

If you have any doubts don't hesitate to contact me.
Greetings,
Maria Irene
